Victoria Alexandra Alice Mary Windsor was the sister of King George VI of England. She would later marry and go by the title Countess Of Harewood. She was an avid supporter of the Girl Guides organization.

Royal Guides, A Story of the 1st Buckingham Palace Company was published in 1948

In 1947 Princess Elizabeth became Chief Ranger of the British Empire.


in 1949 Princess Margaret became Sea Ranger Commodore.

1953 HM Queen Elizabeth (past Queen Mother) became one of the patrons for Girl Guides and Princess Margaret became Chief Range until 1965 when she became President of the Girl Guides.
